GLASs fusing

How do you transform bits of coloured glass into captivatingly beautiful creations through which light will sparkle and delight?

By fusing it! The heat of a glass kiln will melt the glass together, making a permanent and deliciously tactile work of art.

A vast array of artistic designs and shapes can be made, using all the colours of the rainbow – and your imagination, of course.  You can make flat designs such as tiles, coasters and plaques, or your creation can be ‘slumped’ – fired over a shaped mould - to make a bowl, dish, tray or ‘wave’.

The glass comes in various forms:  large or small pieces, confetti (slivers), stringers (threads), ribbons and dots, and frit (crushed glass); magical effects can be created by using specialist glass such as dichroic.

Why not try Glass Fusing for yourself one of our workshop sessions?

You can choose to:

  • follow a specific design with step-by-step guidance from Trisha

  • create your own design or follow one of our examples, with assistance from Trisha.  We have a photo book of finished fused glass creations that you can leaf through for inspiration.

  • let your creative juices run wild on a project of your own!  This is for those who have done several workshops; Trisha will always be present.

Further information about our workshops can be found on our Glass Fusing Workshops page, and you can visit our Testimonials page to see how other people enjoyed their creative workshop experience.
